History of Shekinah Glory Ministries International,Inc.
In 1984 the Lord touched the heart of the late Elder David W.Jackson to birth out a church from where he served as the Assistant Pastor to the late Elder Albert A. Tenzy,Sr. who was Pastor of Morning Star Tabernacle COGIC (now called Higher Dimensions COGIC in Racine Wi). After seeking the Lord for a name for the church the name was revealed to Elder Jackson to name the church Mt.Calvary COGIC by his wife Mattie. Establishing the church in his home the Lord would later bless us to move into our first home which was located at 945 N.Memorial Dr. in Racine,Wi. It would be here that Lord would begin to share the vision that he would have for the ministry. Many words were prophesied and spoken over the ministry and while many men and women would come from the highways and byways to sit under this anointed Teacher of the Word of God many sons and daughters have come from the loins of this man's ministry, to name a few Pastor Kenneth D. Taylor in Dyersburg, Tennessee,Pastor Emmanuel Howard,Sr. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and our beloved Pastor Bishop Charles C Jones D.D.. After Pastoring for 12 glorious years the Lord called Pastor David W Jackson home on October 21st 1996. Even though he is no longer with us the impact of this mans ministry is still felt by those who were close to him. After the passing of Pastor David W Jackson the torch was passed to our beloved leader Pastor Charles C Jones at that time the church was still called Mt. Calvary COGIC from 1996 to 1998. In 1999 Pastor Jones changed the name to Shekinah Glory Ministries COGIC but later would change the name in 2000 to Shekinah Glory Ministries International,Inc. after he pulled out of the Church of God in Christ (Memphis,Tennessee) a Pentecostal/Holiness denomination he had been with for most of his teenage and adult life. Shekinah Glory Ministries International,Inc. is now affiliated with the Word of Faith Christian Fellowship International,Inc. of which Bishop Charles C Jones D.D. is the Presiding Prelate. We are a local church and a global church that is reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ. Under this visionary our church has grown as Bishop continues to birth men ,women and churches that are making a mark that cannot be erased. We are a hand clapping, foot stomping, tongue talking, spirit filled church that believes in singing under the anointing,shouting when the Spirit comes upon us, preaching under the unction of the Holy Ghost,and praying in the Spirit without ceasing!
